Role Overview
This marketing role sits inside the Retail & SME Division of an insurance business, where success is measured by pipeline created and business closed rather than impressions alone. The person in the seat plans and runs campaigns across digital and traditional channels — paid social, email, promotional activations, events — on behalf of a wide portfolio that includes medical, motor, travel, domestic, business and professional indemnity insurance as well as life policies. The position matters because it is the connective tissue between brand visibility and revenue: it keeps quality leads flowing to sales teams, turns marketing spend into measurable acquisition, and makes sure everything published stands up to both brand and regulatory scrutiny.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the division's digital marketing activity and support product launches so Retail & SME acquisition and growth targets are met.
- Generate, nurture and hand over digital leads, partnering closely with sales and business development colleagues to convert that pipeline into revenue.
- Own multi-channel campaigns, promotional activations and customer engagement events from planning through execution and wrap-up.
- Produce marketing copy, promotional collateral and visibility materials for digital, print and in-person channels.
- Moderate and grow the brand's online communities to lift engagement, encourage advocacy and capture new leads.
- Act as the primary link between the division, central marketing, external agencies and vendors, keeping briefs, timelines and deliverables aligned.
- Monitor campaign performance, market trends and return on marketing investment, then translate findings into clear reports and dashboards.
- Safeguard compliance by ensuring every marketing activity adheres to corporate brand standards and regulatory policy.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least three years in marketing and communications, ideally gained within financial services or insurance.
- Demonstrated hands-on management of digital campaigns, social media advertising, lead generation programmes and email marketing.
- Comfort with analytics tools for measuring performance and optimising marketing outcomes.
- Strong copywriting and presentation abilities, with the confidence to present to internal and external stakeholders.
- Working proficiency in Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite for producing campaign and collateral assets.
- A track record of coordinating projects, meeting tight deadlines and juggling competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the relationship-building ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Solid command of Microsoft Office, plus a demonstrable commitment to integrity and quality of work.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Digital Marketing or a related field from a recognised university.
- An added advantage: professional certification in Marketing, Digital Marketing or Communications (CIM or equivalent), or certification in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Social Media Marketing or a related digital discipline.
