Role Overview
We are seeking a highly articulate, detail-oriented Business Liaison Officer to support the commercial development and daily operational execution of our regional office in Nairobi. Your primary focus will be to act as a vital operational bridge between our East Africa presence and global headquarters, managing cross-border trade administration, corporate compliance, and executive support pipelines. This position connects hands-on supply chain logistics with strategic business development; you will coordinate shipping documentation for coffee exports, manage regional supplier networks across diverse commodity sectors (machinery, textiles, energy, and chemicals), and deliver market research intelligence to inform regional expansion strategies. The role demands an adaptable, commercially minded professional who excels in multicultural communication, possesses strong numerical skills, and can effortlessly juggle corporate governance with field-level trade coordination.
Core Competencies
Export Coordination & Trade Logistics
- Manage shipping arrangements and export documentation for coffee and food material trades destined for Japanese and international off-taker markets.
- Coordinate trade workflows across diverse sectors—including machinery, textiles, metals, minerals, energy, and chemicals—ensuring compliance with international INCOTERMS.
- Maintain direct communication channels between East African suppliers, local producers, and global headquarters to guarantee seamless transaction flows.
- Oversee trade contract execution, verifying shipping schedules, bill of lading accuracy, and customs clearance readiness to eliminate transit delays.
Market Intelligence & Business Development
- Conduct targeted East African market research to estimate segment sizes, map competitive landscapes, and formulate market entry strategies for headquarters.
- Identify, recruit, and cultivate strategic partnerships with regional manufacturers, primary producers, and industrial suppliers.
- Track emerging commercial opportunities across real estate, technology, energy, and consumer goods sectors, presenting actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Assist in promoting food items and commodities to maximize product positioning and long-term buyer retention in international markets.
Executive Administration & Headquarters Liaison
- Serve as the central communication channel between the Nairobi office and global headquarters, ensuring accurate and prompt report submissions.
- Coordinate corporate governance matters, including company registration updates, regulatory filings, and work permit applications for expatriate personnel.
- Compile and track operational sustainability metrics required for corporate ESG and SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) reporting.
- Liaise with external IT vendors and service providers to oversee local office IT infrastructure, facilities, and data security compliance.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum Entry Criteria
- Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, International Trade, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional Longevity: Approximately 2 years of progressive experience in business administration, corporate liaison, international trading, export operations, or executive support within a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Trade Literacy: Practical understanding or strong willingness to master import/export administration, shipping documentation protocols, and INCOTERMS.

- Integrity & Compliance: High ethical standards with strict commitment to corporate governance, confidentiality, and data security protocols.
What We Offer
