Role Overview
This role is focused on driving new business by connecting individuals and organizations with tailored general insurance solutions. Day to day, you will proactively identify sales opportunities, consult with clients to understand their risk exposures, and craft policy recommendations that align with both their needs and company offerings. Your success directly supports the company's growth in Kenya's competitive insurance market by expanding its client base and reinforcing trust through professional guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively source and develop a pipeline of leads through networking, referrals, and cold outreach to businesses and individuals.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and financial analyses to determine appropriate general insurance coverages, including motor, property, health, and liability policies.
- Present and explain insurance product features, terms, and pricing to clients, addressing questions and objections to secure commitments.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial quotation to policy issuance, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.
- Nurture long-term client relationships by providing ongoing support, policy reviews, and proactive renewal reminders.
- Liaise with insurers and internal underwriting teams to secure competitive rates and coverage terms tailored to client profiles.
- Track personal sales performance against monthly and quarterly targets, adjusting strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and market trends affecting the general insurance sector in Kenya.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline such as finance, marketing, or commerce.
- Active progress toward or completion of a recognized insurance professional qualification, such as ACII, CII, or IIK certification.
- At least two years of proven experience selling general insurance products in the Kenyan market.
- Solid understanding of local insurance regulations, industry dynamics, and competitor offerings.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and build a client base independently.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills tailored to consultative selling.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and standard office tools for reporting and client management.
