Job Title: Sales Manager – Logistics, Air & Ocean Freight
Job Purpose
The incumbent is responsible for driving revenue growth by setting and achieving sales goals aligned with the company's budgetary forecast. This role leads the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives across the global network to maximize market share and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Operations
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for Logistics, Air Freight, and Ocean Freight through the global network.
- Ensure alignment of sales plans with overall business objectives and revenue targets.
Business Development
- Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Devise actionable plans to achieve revenue targets and penetrate new markets.
Marketing & Campaign Execution
- Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation through to execution.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
Market Research & Intelligence
- Conduct market research and gather business intelligence to identify emerging markets and evolving customer needs.
- Use insights to inform strategic decisions and competitive positioning.
Customer Retention & Relationship Management
- Meet with key clients regularly for performance reviews and feedback sessions.
- Use client insights to drive continuous improvement in service levels and client satisfaction.
Compliance & Process Adherence
- Maintain and enforce standard internal operating procedures across all internal departments for all accounts.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory and company standards at all times.
Reporting & Analysis
- Receive, analyse, and present sales performance reports to the Head of Business Unit.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on data-driven insights.
People Management & Coordination
- Monitor and ensure proper coordination by Customer Service Executives with clients, agents, shipping lines, and other allied sub-contractors.
- Lead and support the team to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven 5–8 years of working experience in a Sales / Business Development position within Clearing & Forwarding.
Job-Related Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong understanding of clearing & forwarding operations, regulatory compliance, and financial accuracy, coupled with effective communication skills.
- Good negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and team-building abilities.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
