Role Overview
This role sits at the centre of the company’s efforts to secure new business through public and private sector tenders focused on Microsoft products and services. Day-to-day, the BID Executive manages the full proposal lifecycle—from scanning procurement portals and analysing RFP documents to coordinating technical and commercial inputs across internal teams. The position directly influences revenue growth by ensuring every submission is compliant, competitive, and submitted on time, making it a critical link between sales strategy and client acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor multiple procurement platforms and corporate websites to spot relevant bid opportunities in both government and enterprise sectors.
- Lead the end-to-end preparation of responses for RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, and formal tenders, ensuring all sections (technical, financial, administrative) meet client specifications.
- Build and maintain a central library of reusable proposal content, past case studies, and standard templates to accelerate future submissions.
- Collaborate with sales, technical, and finance teams to craft compelling value propositions that highlight the company’s Microsoft-centric capabilities.
- Coordinate internal approval workflows for pricing, terms, and certifications before any proposal is submitted.
- Track opportunity pipelines and maintain a structured tender calendar to give leadership clear visibility of upcoming deadlines and win-loss trends.
- Analyse bid documents to qualify opportunities and support go/no-go decisions in partnership with the Business Development team.
- Ensure all submissions comply with Microsoft partner branding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organisational formatting standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field such as BBIT, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Up to two years of hands-on experience in bid management or proposal development within an IT or technology sales environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft products and the Microsoft Partner ecosystem—especially cloud solutions (M365, Azure) and licensing models—is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of Kenya’s procurement laws and public-sector tendering procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to edit and structure technical and commercial content clearly.
- Strong analytical ability to evaluate bid requirements and translate them into actionable proposal plans.
- Highly organised, able to juggle multiple deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive commercial information.
