Role Overview
This is a field-based commercial role focused on a defined geographic area, where you will be the driving force behind revenue growth and market expansion. Day to day, you will plan and execute territory visits, win new customers across residential, commercial, and institutional segments, and strengthen the company's distribution network by recruiting and supporting sales agents. Your work directly determines how deeply the company's products and services reach local markets, while also protecting profitability through disciplined pricing and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a structured territory plan that maximises daily market coverage and identifies the highest-potential prospects for acquisition.
- Take ownership of sales targets, tracking performance against monthly, quarterly, and annual goals, and adjusting tactics where results fall short.
- Build lasting relationships with customers, resellers, and other channel partners, ensuring they receive timely responses and effective resolution of any issues.
- Recruit, onboard, and motivate territory sales representatives, with a focus on raising their productivity and keeping an active, engaged network in the field.
- Maintain accurate records of every customer interaction, lead, and transaction in the CRM system, following the company's sales processes and documentation standards.
- Apply approved pricing and discount policies consistently across all deals, protecting margins while remaining competitive in the marketplace.
- Submit accurate activity reports and contribute market intelligence on competitor pricing, customer buying trends, and emerging opportunities to inform broader strategy.
- Participate in product training and share successful field techniques with colleagues to improve overall team performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sales & Marketing, or a related discipline; a Diploma in Sales & Marketing combined with relevant field experience may also be considered.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in field sales, direct-to-consumer selling, FMCG, utilities, telecommunications, or another comparable industry.
- Proven record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a territory-based role.
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to use them for pipeline management and reporting.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, backed by a disciplined approach to planning and follow-through.
- Self-motivation and resilience, with genuine comfort working in the field and engaging customers face to face on a daily basis.
