Job Description

Role Overview

This position places you inside the finance team of a Level 4 multi-specialty hospital in Laikipia County, where you will support everyday accounting operations and administrative workflows. Your work keeps patient billing, supplier payments, and internal financial records accurate and audit-ready, giving you direct exposure to how a busy medical facility manages its money. You will learn by doing, rotating through transaction recording, reconciliations, and stock-related tasks under the guidance of experienced finance staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post daily financial transactions into the hospital's accounting system with accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and verify invoices, official receipts, and payment vouchers before they are processed.
  • Perform structured data entry and keep both physical and digital filing systems organized for quick retrieval.
  • Maintain up-to-date accounting records and flag any discrepancies or missing documentation to senior staff.
  • Assist with internal and external audit preparations by pulling records, schedules, and reconciliations as requested.
  • Take part in stock-taking exercises and help match physical counts against system balances.
  • Support bank reconciliation processes by comparing bank statements with internal ledgers and investigating variance.
  • Help manage petty cash records, including verifying receipts and tracking reimbursements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A recent Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, or an active CPA certificate.
  • Solid grounding in fundamental accounting principles such as double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, and basic financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and basic data sorting or filtering.
  • Comfort with standard computer applications used for email, documentation, and routine reporting.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and analytical thinking, especially when reconciling figures or spotting errors.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to maintain orderly records under deadlines.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to balance multiple daily tasks.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to assist team members across the finance department.
  • Problem-solving ability to investigate discrepancies and suggest practical corrective actions.

What We Offer / Why Join
