Role Overview
As an Account Executive at Talent Grid Africa, you will be the driving force behind our client acquisition and retention efforts, connecting organisations across the continent with tailored human resources solutions. Your days will be split between proactive outreach to prospective clients, deep-diving into their workforce challenges, and guiding them from first conversation through to signed contract. This role sits at the commercial heart of our consulting practice, where your ability to listen, diagnose, and persuade directly shapes the revenue we generate and the quality of HR partnerships we build.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and qualify new business leads across multiple African markets, building a robust pipeline through networking, cold outreach, and referrals.
- Conduct discovery sessions with decision-makers to understand their organisational pain points and identify where our HR consulting services can add measurable value.
- Develop and present compelling, customised proposals that clearly articulate the scope, approach, and expected outcomes of our solutions.
- Negotiate commercial terms, handle objections, and close contracts that are mutually beneficial and aligned with our service capacity.
- Manage a portfolio of existing client accounts, ensuring high satisfaction, repeat engagement, and opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions, deal stages, and revenue forecasts within our CRM system.
- Collaborate with our internal HR specialists to ensure that sold solutions are delivered effectively and that client feedback is used to refine future offerings.
- Consistently meet or exceed individual sales targets while contributing to broader business development strategy and market intelligence.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or a closely related discipline.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, ideally within professional services, consulting, or HR-related industries.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and navigate complex organisational buying processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present to C-level audiences and tailor messaging to different cultural and business contexts.
- Proven negotiation and closing ability, backed by a structured approach to managing a sales pipeline.
- Practical proficiency with CRM platforms and the full Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for client presentations.
- A self-starter mindset with excellent time management, resilience in the face of targets, and genuine interest in the African HR landscape.
