Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Driver to operate a 6-wheel Canter truck for distribution and delivery activities in Kiambu. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, maintain vehicle condition, follow safe driving practices, and manage all delivery documentation. This role combines operational responsibility with customer service and requires reliability, integrity, and knowledge of local routes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate assigned 6-wheel Canter truck for daily deliveries

• Verify loaded goods against delivery notes and confirm quantities upon delivery

• Assist in loading and offloading goods, ensuring safe handling

• Plan and follow optimal routes to ensure timely delivery and fuel efficiency

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance needs

• Maintain cleanliness and general condition of the truck

• Keep accurate trip logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery records

• Collect and submit proof of delivery and documentation promptly

• Handle minor mechanical troubleshooting and coordinate major repairs

• Adhere strictly to traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards

• Secure cargo to prevent movement or damage during transit

• Report any accidents, delays, damages, or incidents to supervisors

• Support stock reconciliation by ensuring delivered quantities match dispatch records

• Maintain professional conduct when interacting with customers, clients, and team members

• Safeguard company assets including vehicle, fuel, and goods in transit

• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and protective gear

Key Requirements:

• Valid driving license (Class BCE or relevant category)

• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving Canter trucks; 6-wheel truck experience mandatory

• Knowledge of road safety regulations and local routes in Kiambu and surrounding areas

• Physically fit to handle loading/offloading tasks

• Responsible, reliable, and with strong integrity

• Experience in FMCG distribution is an advantage
