Role Overview

This role centres on the design and delivery of a structured, industry-aligned curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Day to day, you will prepare course materials, deliver lectures using varied teaching methods, and develop assessments that measure learner outcomes. Your contribution directly supports the department’s academic quality, research output, and student success, bridging classroom theory with real-world practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and implement a curriculum that meets academic standards and programme goals.
• Design detailed course and lesson plans from approved syllabi and learning outcomes.
• Produce engaging contact-learning resources, online modules, and supplementary teaching aids such as case studies and lab sheets.
• Deliver content through a mix of approaches including fieldwork, group projects, assignments, laboratory sessions, and extracurricular learning activities.
• Create and administer fair assessment frameworks that capture both knowledge and applied skills.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate students on research projects, dissertations, internships, and fieldwork.
• Conduct independent research in your specialist area, aiming for publication in peer-reviewed journals, books, or digital platforms, while actively pursuing grant funding and collaborative projects.
• Provide academic and career guidance to students during office hours and scheduled advising sessions.
• Represent the department at conferences, workshops, and industry outreach events, fostering partnerships with external organisations.
• Take part in departmental administration, committee work, and field operations as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• PhD in a field directly aligned with the programme’s discipline, plus a Master’s degree in a relevant subject.
• Candidates who are in the final stage of their PhD (data collection completed) with a relevant Master’s degree may be considered.
• At least three years of professional experience in an industry related to the programme domain.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for lecturing, advising, and publishing.
• Strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate with colleagues, students, and external partners.
• Proven organisational and planning skills to manage concurrent teaching, research, and administrative tasks.
• Demonstrated research skills including experimental design, data analysis, and report writing.
