Role Overview
You will join a production team responsible for capturing and editing video content across a range of commercial, documentary, and broadcast-style projects. Working behind the camera and in the edit suite, you will turn raw footage into polished, engaging stories that meet the creative standards of each client or programme. Your eye for composition, rhythm, and narrative will directly shape the final product that audiences see.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment on location and in studio settings, ensuring technically sound footage.
- Review and organise raw footage, logging clips and building project timelines for efficient post-production workflows.
- Edit video content using industry-standard tools to craft compelling narratives with precise pacing, transitions, and visual continuity.
- Colour-correct and grade footage to achieve a consistent, polished look that suits the project's tone and platform.
- Mix and sync audio, clean up background noise, and integrate music or voiceover tracks to create a clear, balanced soundscape.
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and other stakeholders to interpret creative briefs and deliver final cuts that align with the intended message.
- Export and deliver finished videos in the appropriate formats for broadcast, web, or social channels, checking technical specifications throughout.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Demonstrable professional experience in videography and post-production editing, preferably across commercial, documentary, or broadcast genres.
- Advanced proficiency in at least one of the following editing platforms: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your range, technical skill, and ability to tell a story through moving images.
- Solid understanding of camera operation, framing, lighting, and audio capture principles.
- Working knowledge of file formats, codecs, and delivery standards for different viewing platforms.
- Ability to work independently on edits while also taking direction and collaborating within a team environment.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- A relevant qualification or certification in video production, film, or a related field is preferred but not required if experience and portfolio are strong.
