Role Overview
This position focuses on delivering undergraduate and postgraduate instruction in Educational Psychology while actively contributing to the university’s research output. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and presenting lectures, designing new course materials, and providing academic mentorship to students. The role is essential for maintaining the department’s academic standards and advancing knowledge through research and publication.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess lectures, seminars, and practical sessions across a range of programmes in Educational Psychology.
- Develop and update course content and teaching materials to reflect current research and best practices.
- Participate in curriculum reviews and proposals for new courses in collaboration with departmental colleagues.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research, producing outputs such as journal articles, conference papers, and grant proposals.
- Actively seek external funding through research grant applications and consultancy opportunities.
- Present findings at national and international conferences to disseminate research and build academic networks.
- Provide one-on-one academic guidance and career mentorship to students, including supervision of projects and dissertations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department to support the university’s strategic objectives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Education Psychology or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from a recognised university.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant work experience since obtaining the highest qualification.
- Teaching Potential: Demonstrated ability to deliver university-level instruction and engage students in a positive learning environment.
- Research Capability: Evidence of research activity or clear potential to develop a research profile in Educational Psychology.
- Commitment: Dedication to maintaining high teaching standards and fostering student success.
