Lecturer, Cyber Security and Digital Forensics
Role Overview
This academic appointment combines classroom teaching, curriculum renewal and active research in cyber security and digital forensics, with the post-holder taking ownership of modules and practical sessions assigned by the Head of Department. The role exists to strengthen the department's teaching capacity while growing its research output, so the person appointed will move fluidly between lecturing, supervising students and pursuing funded investigative work. Success looks like students who are well prepared for industry practice, courses that stay current with a fast-moving technical field, and research that is published, presented and translated into consultancy or grant income.

- Conduct original research and prepare grant proposals to secure funding for that research.
- Identify and take part in consultancy engagements relevant to the discipline.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences and comparable professional forums, and disseminate research outputs through appropriate channels.
- Provide academic mentorship and career guidance to students and to junior staff, supporting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
