Role Overview
This academic appointment centres on advancing teaching and research in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or management. The post holder will deliver assigned courses, create and refresh programmes, and connect scholarly work with industry practice through research and consultancy. The role is important because it helps the institution maintain current, industry-relevant provision while producing and sharing new knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses and deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions, while designing, planning, and delivering programmes of study, including new courses at various levels.
- Review course content and learning materials regularly, updating them to keep pace with academic and industry developments.
- Collaborate with academic colleagues on curriculum design, programme changes, and the development of research activities.
- Carry out research and prepare applications for research funding.
- Seek and take part in consultancy work.
- Present research papers at national and international conferences and similar events, and disseminate research outputs through appropriate channels.
- Provide mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by supervisors or detailed in the full job description.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A PhD in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or management; or a Master's degree in one of these areas plus at least ten years of senior industry experience.
- Nomination by a KAM member firm.
- A minimum of twenty-four publication points, including at least sixteen points from peer-reviewed journal articles.
- At least three years of work experience after completing the relevant qualification.
- Current knowledge of industry standards and practices.
- Registration with a relevant professional organisation.
