Job Description

Role Overview

You will lead practical workshops and theory sessions in design and visual communications, helping students build portfolios and master industry-standard software. Your daily work involves planning lessons, giving hands-on feedback during studio time, and assessing project milestones—directly shaping how learners transition from classroom techniques to professional workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver structured lessons in 3D modelling, architectural drafting, and video editing using Archicad, SketchUp, and Premiere Pro.
  • Conduct individual and group critiques on student projects to develop their creative and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Design assignments that simulate real-world client briefs, encouraging collaboration and deadline management.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) to teach graphic design fundamentals and digital presentation techniques.
  • Set up and maintain classroom hardware and software, ensuring all tools are updated and accessible for each session.
  • Track learner progress through formative and summative assessments, providing written and verbal feedback for portfolio development.
  • Collaborate with other faculty to align curriculum with industry trends and accreditation standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, visual communication, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., DTTE, PGDE, or equivalent) strongly preferred for full-time instructional roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at a tertiary or vocational level, OR at least 3 years of professional practice in architecture or design.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Archicad, SketchUp, Premiere Pro, and the full Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with additional tools such as AutoCAD, Rhino, or After Effects is advantageous.
  • Experience assessing student work and providing constructive feedback in a classroom or workshop setting.

What We Offer / Why Join

This role gives you the chance to directly influence the next generation of designers and architects in a hands-on learning environment. You will work with motivated students and have the autonomy to shape your curriculum around current industry practices, while collaborating with a supportive faculty team dedicated to educational excellence.
