Role Overview
This is a hands-on software architecture role focused on building the next wave of SaaS products for a growing technology organization. You will spend your time turning strategic goals into working prototypes, guiding engineering teams through complex design decisions, and aligning product, engineering, and executive stakeholders around a shared technical direction. The position matters because it directly shapes how the platform scales, modernizes legacy components, and adopts emerging tools without losing sight of near-term customer and market needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality, runnable prototypes and proofs of concept that development teams can use as blueprints for production features.
- Partner with other architects to define and evolve the platform architecture vision, principles, and multi-year roadmap.
- Work with executive management to translate business trends and growth objectives into a practical technology strategy.
- Collaborate with product leaders to design applications and services that deliver the product roadmap.
- Coordinate the design and integration of major new capabilities into the product portfolio, ensuring decisions address scalability, security, and long-term business goals while still meeting short-term market demands.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of architects and software developers, establishing engineering standards and delivery processes that consistently produce high-quality software.
- Champion legacy modernization efforts, including migrating or integrating MultiValue-based systems into modern web and cloud architectures.
- Evaluate and introduce emerging open-source technologies and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve developer productivity and product capability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years working across every stage of the software development life cycle in web-based SaaS environments.
- Agile leadership: Strong practical understanding of Agile methodologies, plus experience leading software teams that use Agile delivery practices.
- Engineering foundation: Demonstrated ability to design complex systems and enterprise web-based platforms.
- MultiValue databases: Hands-on application development with UniData, UniVerse, or comparable MultiValue platforms.
- DevOps: Practical implementation of containerization, configuration management, monitoring, deployment pipelines,
