Role Overview
You will take on a full-time teaching position where your primary focus is guiding students through the national curriculum while preparing them for Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) assessments. Your day-to-day work involves delivering engaging lessons, tracking each learner’s progress through regular testing, and adapting your teaching strategies based on individual and class-wide performance. This role is central to the school’s mission of maintaining strong academic outcomes and making sure every child is ready for the next stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons that align with the approved curriculum and meet KNEC syllabus requirements.
- Design, administer, and mark continuous assessment tests, assignments, and practical evaluations in line with KNEC guidelines.
- Analyse student performance data to identify learning gaps and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and examination results for internal and external reporting.
- Provide focused remedial support to students who require additional help before internal and national examinations.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to coordinate exam preparation strategies and share best practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child’s achievements, challenges, and overall development.
- Create a positive, disciplined classroom environment that supports active learning and personal growth.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognised institution.
- At least three years of professional teaching experience, preferably in a primary or secondary school setting.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of KNEC assessment procedures, including test construction, marking schemes, and grade moderation.
- Strong classroom management and lesson delivery skills.
- Ability to interpret examination data and use it to improve teaching outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
