Position: Store Assistant

Location: Dandora, Nairobi

Role Purpose

We are looking for a hardworking and organized Store Assistant to join our FMCG operations in Dandora. This is a multi-functional role that combines warehouse organization with logistical support. You will be responsible for the accurate receipt of goods, maintaining a tidy storage environment, and ensuring that products reach our customers or sales teams promptly. This position requires an individual who is comfortable both behind a computer for record-keeping and on a motorcycle for field deliveries, making it ideal for a proactive professional with local geographical knowledge.

Key Deliverables

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Receive and inspect incoming FMCG products, ensuring they match delivery notes and meet quality standards.

  • Organize and maintain the storage area to maximize space and ensure easy accessibility for fast-moving items.

  • Monitor stock levels daily and alert management regarding potential shortages or stock discrepancies.

  • Participate in periodic physical stock takes and internal inventory audits to ensure 100% data accuracy.

Logistics & Field Support

  • Dispatch goods to sales teams or customers accurately according to issued orders.

  • Utilize a motorcycle to perform timely deliveries within Dandora and the surrounding areas.

  • Ensure all items are handled with care during transit to prevent damage or loss.

  • Maintain the delivery motorcycle in good working condition, reporting any maintenance needs immediately.

Store Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain a clean, secure, and highly organized store environment at all times.

  • Update digital and manual stock records using basic computer systems and MS Excel.

  • Prepare simple, clear reports on stock movements, balances, and daily delivery activities.

  • Adhere to all safety and compliance protocols regarding stock handling and storage within the facility.

Requirements & Competencies

Professional Background

  • Education: Minimum of a KCSE certificate.

  • License: Must possess a valid motorcycle riding license.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a store, warehouse, or retail setup is highly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Excel or basic inventory software).

Essential Skills

  • Geographical Knowledge: Familiarity with Dandora and the surrounding neighborhoods is a significant advantage.

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to handle the physical movement of stock and withstand the demands of field deliveries.

  • Reliability: A high level of honesty, punctuality, and attention to detail.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to keep track of multiple stock items and maintain clear documentation.
