Role Overview
This position supports the daily movement of fast-moving consumer goods through a busy distribution warehouse in Lungalunga, Nairobi. The person in this role handles the physical flow of stock from incoming trucks to organised storage and out again as picked customer orders. Their accuracy and pace directly affect whether deliveries leave on time and whether inventory records match what is actually on the racks.
Key Responsibilities
- Move cartons, crates, and other goods on and off trucks, containers, and delivery vehicles without causing damage to products or packaging.
- Sort incoming stock, repack items where needed, apply labels, and place inventory in the correct rack or bay according to FIFO rotation.
- Keep loading bays, walkways, and storage zones clear, tidy, and free from obvious hazards during shifts.
- Pick items against worksheets from customers, distributors, or internal teams, checking quantities and product details before handing orders to dispatch.
- Pack, seal, and label outgoing orders so they are ready for safe transit and quick loading.
- Ride along on delivery runs when needed, helping drivers unload goods and complete handovers with clients.
- Take part in regular stock counts, spot checks, and physical reconciliation of inventory records under a supervisor’s direction.
- Flag missing, damaged, expired, short, or excess stock to the relevant supervisor without delay.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or a comparable vocational programme.
- Good physical stamina and fitness to lift, carry, and move heavy goods throughout the working day.
- Warehouse, retail inventory, or FMCG logistics experience is an added advantage.
- Careful attention to detail when reading dispatch paperwork, counting units, and checking labels.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-disciplined, with the ability to keep working accurately in a fast-paced operation.
- Clear commitment to manual handling safety, facility cleanliness, and workplace health and safety rules.
