Sound Engineering Lecturer

Role Overview

You will work across both studio and live environments, taking projects from initial recording through to finished mixes and front-of-house sound. Your work directly shapes the quality and reputation of our productions, so a strong ear, technical precision, and the ability to adapt quickly are essential. Day to day, you will collaborate with artists, engineers, and clients, ensuring every session runs smoothly and every output meets professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate recording sessions in studio environments, including microphone placement, signal routing, and monitoring.
• Record, edit, and comp audio across a wide range of projects using industry-standard DAWs such as Logic Pro, Ableton, and Pro Tools.
• Mix and master tracks to deliver polished, commercially competitive final products.
• Provide live sound engineering support for events, including sound checks, system tuning, and live mixing.
• Collaborate with producers, artists, and directors to achieve the desired creative and technical outcomes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot studio hardware, software, and outboard gear to minimise downtime.
• Apply acoustic principles to optimise both studio spaces and live venues, including speaker placement and room treatment.
• Maintain accurate session files, stems, and documentation for current and future projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with professional DAWs, specifically Logic Pro, Ableton, and Pro Tools.
• Verifiable professional credits in music production or live sound engineering.
• Strong practical understanding of acoustics and studio design, including room correction and sound isolation.
• A recognised Diploma in Music Production & Sound Engineering or equivalent hands-on training.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with creative teams.
• A portfolio or showreel demonstrating your production, mixing, and/or live sound work.
