Software Developer (Intern)

Role Overview

This internship places you directly inside a working development team, where you will write and ship code for real products rather than completing simulated exercises. Your day-to-day will mix conventional software engineering—building features, fixing bugs, reviewing peers' work—with emerging AI agent development, including designing prompts, wiring up tools, and automating multi-step processes. Key Responsibilities

• Write, test, and maintain application code for live company projects, working under the direction of senior developers.
• Prototype and improve AI agents that use large language models to reason, call external tools, and execute autonomous workflows.
• Connect company software with third-party APIs, managing authentication, data transformation, and failure handling.
• Produce readable code with accompanying documentation so that teammates can understand and extend your work.
• Join agile ceremonies—standups, sprint planning, retrospectives—and give constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Investigate and resolve defects in existing systems, focusing on stability, performance, and user impact.
• Keep abreast of new AI and software development tools, then share practical findings and recommendations with the team.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related ICT field.
• Practical ability in at least one programming language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#.
• Foundation in software development principles: data structures, version control with Git, and database design or querying.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, plus a genuine willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies.
• Effective written and spoken communication for collaborating with technical colleagues.
• Preferred: Experience creating LLM-powered agents or applications via APIs from Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, or similar providers.
• Preferred: Familiarity with agent frameworks and patterns such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, tool/function calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Preferred: Exposure to REST APIs, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), or containerisation with Docker.
• Preferred: A GitHub profile, portfolio, or personal projects that demonstrate your coding ability, especially in AI.
