Job Description

Role Overview

This position is central to the everyday running of a busy bank branch, balancing sales leadership with operational discipline. You will manage your own portfolio of retail and business clients, proactively bring in new accounts, and deepen existing relationships by matching customers with the right banking products. Alongside hitting growth targets, you will protect the bank by enforcing compliance, resolving service issues quickly, and supporting branch colleagues to maintain consistently high performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business acquisition and grow wallet share from existing clients by actively pitching retail and business banking products, from current accounts and savings to loans and asset finance.
  • Build and execute a personal sales plan aligned with branch targets, monitoring daily progress and adjusting tactics to address shortfalls before they become gaps.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities by collaborating with specialist teams such as direct sales, asset finance, corporate banking, and bancassurance to better serve shared customers.
  • Gather market intelligence on customer trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity, feeding actionable insight back into branch strategy and product development.
  • Ensure a seamless customer journey from onboarding to ongoing service, maintaining rapid turnaround times for account opening and loan approvals while promptly escalating and resolving complaints.
  • Uphold strict internal control standards, including KYC and AML checks, accurate data capture, proper fee collection, and operational risk monitoring to prevent avoidable losses.
  • Support branch efficiency by participating in snap checks, managing costs within your area, and following account re-streaming policies to prevent unnecessary movement of funds.
  • Contribute to a productive team environment by completing assigned training, helping with succession planning, and coordinating with branch leadership to improve service during peak and off-peak hours.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A business-related degree from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in banking or a similar financial services environment, with hands-on knowledge of both retail and business banking products such as checking accounts, savings accounts, loans, and credit cards.
  • A strong track record of exceeding sales targets and growing a personal client portfolio, with the ability to consistently deliver against ambitious growth goals.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency, especially when managing time-sensitive processes like account funding and complaint resolution.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability when handling shifting priorities, peak workloads, and tight deadlines without sacrificing output quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to staff at every level and a clear focus on delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
