Role Overview
You will act as the on-ground technical backbone for our clients across Nairobi and its outskirts, keeping their packaging and bottling lines running at full capacity. Day to day, this means moving between customer plants to commission new machines, carry out planned servicing, and jump on urgent breakdowns that threaten production targets. Your work directly protects the reliability of critical industrial equipment and helps plant teams get the most from their machinery through hands-on training and clear troubleshooting guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of continuous Form-Fill-Seal systems, linear liquid fillers, water bottling lines, and multihead weighers at client production sites.
- Diagnose and correct faults spanning mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software systems, including labelling units and industrial coding equipment such as CIJ, TIJ, and laser date coders.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance visits on customer machinery, working to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Interpret electrical wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and component layouts to guide field repairs and replacement of parts.
- Train plant operators on safe machine handling, everyday operation, basic upkeep, and adherence to factory safety standards.
- Coordinate with internal sales and technical teams during customer site visits, offering practical engineering input for proposals and upgrades.
- Keep accurate records of every service visit, machine history, customer sign-off, and spare parts usage, ensuring complete traceability.
- Handle emergency breakdown call-outs promptly, performing on-site root cause analysis and component swaps to restore production quickly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering.
- At least two years of hands-on, mid-level experience servicing liquid filling lines, labelling equipment, or related packaging machinery.
- Proven practical exposure to FFS machines, multihead weighers, and date coding systems (CIJ, TIJ, or laser).
- A valid driver’s license and genuine willingness to travel frequently between client locations across Nairobi and surrounding areas.
- Strong diagnostic ability to isolate combined mechanical, electrical, and software faults quickly, often under production pressure.
- Clear and professional English communication skills, both for training operators and for handling customer queries.
- Self-motivated approach to managing your own field service schedule, working independently on site, and responding to emergency call-outs.
