Role Overview
This Network Engineer builds and maintains the routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure that keeps enterprise users and systems reliably connected. The work combines hands-on implementation with ongoing performance checks and incident response, helping prevent disruptions and resolve network problems before they affect service.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, deploy, and refine enterprise routers, switches, and wireless systems to meet connectivity needs.
- Track network availability, performance, and security indicators to identify emerging risks or capacity constraints.
- Investigate complex incidents, hardware or system faults, and degraded performance, then restore service and address underlying causes.
- Review network behavior and adjust configurations to reduce bottlenecks and improve reliability.
- Keep network topology diagrams, configuration backups, and records of infrastructure changes accurate and current.
- Support the ongoing operation and maintenance of high-performance network environments.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Engineering, Telecommunications, ICT, or a related discipline.
- At least seven years of overall work experience in the telecommunications or ICT sector.
- At least five years of relevant experience, including implementation of a project comparable in scope and complexity.
- Industry-recognized networking certification, such as CCNA, CCNP, or an equivalent qualification.
- Practical expertise in routing, switching, and wireless technologies, alongside network troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
