Job Description

Role Overview

This role focuses on driving revenue growth in the global custody business by acquiring new clients, retaining existing relationships, and expanding service usage. Day to day, you will manage a designated portfolio of institutional clients, ensuring their operational needs are met, resolving complex issues with internal specialists, and proactively identifying opportunities to deepen the partnership. Your work directly influences market share, profitability, and client satisfaction in a highly regulated environment where risk management and contractual diligence are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively source new business and nurture existing client relationships, specifically targeting global custody services, to increase both market share and profit margins.
  • Manage a designated client portfolio by conducting continuous reviews, identifying unmet needs, and offering tailored custody solutions.
  • Act as the primary, knowledgeable point of contact for all client inquiries regarding account information, reporting, and service issues.
  • Facilitate swift resolution of escalations and problems by coordinating with specialized operational units.
  • Lead end-to-end contract negotiation and review with current and prospective clients, ensuring terms are competitive and compliant.
  • Draft and submit tenders and create persuasive presentations for new business pitches, as well as for client meetings and annual general meetings.
  • Oversee all client KYC and AML documentation to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and risk mitigation within the custody portfolio.
  • Ensure all custody reports are delivered to clients within agreed service-level agreement timelines and resolve any audit-related matters for custody clients.
  • Manage billing and revenue collection for custody services rendered, meeting financial targets assigned to the role.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • University degree from a recognized institution.
  • Capital Markets Program Certification (CISI) at least Level 1, plus a Trustee Development Program Certification (TDPK).
  • Minimum seven years of banking experience within the financial or banking sector.
  • At least three years of direct experience in bank operations.
  • Five years of proven relationship management experience specifically in local or global custody services.
  • Five years of stakeholder management skills, including working with investment committees and fund secretaries.
  • Three years of hands-on experience processing business tenders from start to finish.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and high emotional intelligence to manage sensitive client interactions.
  • Excellent persuasion, management, and communication skills, along with strong organisational capabilities.
  • A creative approach with an ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative, practical solutions.
  • Uncompromising integrity and ethical standards in all client and internal dealings.
