Role Overview
This role focuses on the daily orchestration of university examination systems, ensuring every test and result is handled with precision and fairness. The person in this position oversees the entire lifecycle of assessments, from scheduling and printing to result verification and publication, directly safeguarding the institution's academic integrity. By aligning all processes with regulatory standards and university policies, this leader ensures that students, faculty, and external stakeholders experience a transparent and reliable examination environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the planning, scheduling, printing, and secure administration of all university examinations across departments.
- Enforce examination regulations and quality assurance protocols to maintain consistent academic standards.
- Manage the processing of examination results, including verification, release, and auditing of graduation lists.
- Oversee the setting, storage, invigilation, marking, and moderation of assessments to ensure credibility and security.
- Coordinate the selection and management of external examiners in collaboration with academic schools, and monitor implementation of their reports.
- Prepare examination budgets and procurement plans while liaising with the Records Office for transcript and certificate issuance.
- Train staff and students on examination policies and procedures to promote compliance and understanding across the university.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Master's degree from an accredited university is mandatory; a PhD is considered an added advantage.
- A degree in Education from a recognized university and a relevant professional qualification are preferred.
- Membership in a recognized professional body relevant to examinations or academic administration.
- At least five years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience managing complex examination processes, including familiarity with examination bodies, academic regulations, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Proficiency in academic management information systems and advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools, and AI applications.
- Strong leadership, organisational, planning, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, paired with high integrity and professionalism.
