Job Overview

We are seeking a Security Associate to join our hospitality team at our property along Mombasa Road, near the Airport. The role involves ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property through active patrols, monitoring, access control, and prompt response to incidents. This position suits a disciplined, alert, and customer‑oriented individual with a background in security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Surveillance & Patrol

  • Conduct scheduled and random patrols of all hotel areas, including guest floors, parking areas, perimeter, back‑of‑house, and public spaces.

  • Monitor CCTV systems continuously and identify any suspicious or unusual activity.

  • Ensure all security equipment (radios, cameras, alarms) is functional and report faults immediately.

  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized activities and reassure guests.

Access Control & Loss Prevention

  • Manage entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized persons access restricted areas.

  • Verify staff IDs, visitor passes, and supplier documentation.

  • Monitor movement of goods in and out of the premises to prevent theft or pilferage.

  • Conduct bag checks in line with company policy while maintaining professionalism.

Incident Response & Reporting

  • Respond promptly to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, disturbances, or security breaches.

  • De‑escalate conflicts involving guests, staff, or external parties in a calm and professional manner.

  • Record detailed incident reports, including observations, actions taken, and outcomes.

  • Preserve evidence and support investigations where required.

Health, Safety & Emergency Preparedness

  • Support implementation of fire safety and evacuation procedures.

  • Participate in emergency drills and ensure readiness at all times.

  • Provide basic first aid and coordinate medical assistance when needed.

  • Identify potential safety hazards and report or rectify them proactively.

Guest & Staff Support

  • Offer assistance to guests in a courteous and professional manner while ensuring safety.

  • Escort guests or staff when necessary, especially in late hours or sensitive situations.

  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.

  • Balance security enforcement with a customer‑friendly approach.

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with supervisors, management, and external agencies (police, fire services, ambulance) when required.

  • Communicate clearly during shift handovers, ensuring continuity of security operations.

  • Work closely with other departments (Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering) to address safety concerns.

Compliance & Standards

  • Enforce hotel policies, security protocols, and legal regulations.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and incidents.

  • Uphold high standards of discipline, grooming, and professionalism.

  • Adhere to ethical conduct and demonstrate integrity at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a hotel or hospitality security setup.

  • Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.

  • Familiarity with CCTV systems and access control systems.

  • Strong observation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.

  • Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for extended periods.
