School Music Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Music Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality music education that nurtures students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of diverse musical traditions, in line with the school’s international curriculum and values.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and deliver music lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and international education standards.
• Teach practical and theoretical aspects of music, including singing, instrumental performance, rhythm, notation, and music appreciation.
• Prepare students for performances, concerts, assemblies, and school events.
• Assess, record, and report on students’ progress and achievement.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Integrate music technology and a variety of teaching resources into lessons.
• Support extracurricular music activities such as choirs, bands, and clubs.
• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to school activities and events.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
• Uphold school policies, safeguarding standards, and professional conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
• Must be registered with and with a TSC Number
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in school setting.
• Ability to play one or more musical instruments is highly desirable.
• Able to teach other key subjects and be computer literate
