Job Description

Role Overview

You will join a fundraising team that relies heavily on Slack, Gmail, and Google Calendar, and your task is to make Salesforce work seamlessly for them without requiring everyone to log into Salesforce all day. Day to day, you will configure reports, fix integration workflows between Slack and Salesforce, design training for different user groups, and write plain-language guides that help non-technical staff adopt the system. Your work directly reduces friction for people who manage donor relationships, ensuring their daily interactions in Slack and email automatically feed the pipeline data the organization needs to track and forecast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up initial Salesforce reports and dashboards including a master pipeline view, regional and relationship-manager-level reports, an automated data-quality error check, and a meeting activity report.
  • Test and tune the Slack-to-Salesforce and Gmail/Google Calendar-to-Salesforce integrations so that emails, Slack threads, and calendar events flow correctly onto Account and Opportunity records.
  • Verify the “Relate to Salesforce” Slack workflow for creating leads and opportunities, and document the steps and expected results.
  • Identify data hygiene gaps or configuration issues, flag them for the system administrator, and recommend AI-powered workflows to improve efficiency and adoption.
  • Design and deliver a training curriculum for at least two user segments: power users (External Affairs, Chiefs of Staff) and light-touch users (senior staff, directors).
  • Create short, reusable training assets—written guides, annotated screenshots, short video walkthroughs—that users can access in Slack and refer back to after training.
  • Develop role-based standard operating procedures (SOPs) for super users and light-touch users, translating existing workflow documentation into step-by-step guides in plain language.
  • Serve as first-line support during rollout, triaging issues between user error, configuration problems, and training gaps, and build a living FAQ from recurring questions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience operationalizing a CRM—including documentation, training, and user enablement—with Salesforce experience required (preferably in a fundraising context).
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce integrations with Slack and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive).
  • Ability to create training materials that build confidence in non-technical users and reduce resistance to the system.
  • Comfort working within an already-configured Salesforce environment without admin-level build privileges; you document and escalate clearly when changes are needed.
  • Excellent written communication skills, backed by samples of SOPs or training materials you have produced.
  • Experience collaborating across a globally distributed team.
  • Strong understanding of change management strategies for increasing user adoption and overcoming system aversion (preferred).
  • Significant nonprofit fundraising experience, especially with donor/funder relationship management (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) objects and fundraising workflows such as Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, and Gift Commitments (preferred).
  • Prior experience managing CRM rollouts where the primary challenge is user adoption rather than technical build (preferred).
  • Past work at a research organization, international NGO, or social sector advisory firm (preferred).

What We Offer / Why Join

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving adoption challenges and making a tool work for real people rather than just configuring a system. The organization values your ability to bridge the gap between technical functionality and everyday user behavior, and you will have the opportunity to shape how a globally distributed fundraising team operates.
