Role Overview
This position is responsible for steering a sales team within a logbook lending operation, balancing daily supervision with direct contribution to revenue growth. You will oversee the full sales cycle from lead generation through loan onboarding, while ensuring your team adheres to lending compliance standards and delivers a smooth customer experience. Your leadership directly influences market share expansion and the company’s reputation for reliable, customer-focused financing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and energise the sales team to hit both individual quotas and branch-level performance targets.
- Proactively pursue new business by identifying prospects, converting leads, and nurturing long-term client relationships.
- Conduct regular one-on-one reviews and team huddles to track progress, address skill gaps, and reinforce best-practice selling techniques.
- Oversee the end-to-end loan origination process, ensuring accurate documentation, quality onboarding, and timely processing.
- Enforce internal policies and regulatory requirements across all sales and credit activities to maintain operational integrity.
- Analyse sales metrics and prepare management reports that highlight achievements, risks, and actionable improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with credit, operations, and customer service departments to streamline workflows and resolve client issues quickly.
- Build a pipeline of repeat and referral business by maintaining high customer satisfaction and transparent communication.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related commercial discipline.
- At least 1 year of formal experience leading or supervising a sales team, with proven ability to motivate and manage performance.
- Minimum 2 years working in logbook financing, asset finance, or a similar secured lending environment.
- Solid grasp of lending principles, credit assessment, loan documentation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets and growing a customer base in a competitive market.
- Strong verbal and written communication, plus effective presentation and negotiation skills when dealing with clients and stakeholders.
- Hands-on leadership style with coaching, conflict resolution, and people development capabilities.
- Analytical and strategic thinker who can interpret sales data, solve operational problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with CRM or loan management systems will be an added advantage.
