Job Description

Job Title: Shari’ah Banking Relationship Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to manage and grow our Shari’ah-compliant banking portfolio. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales, mitigating risks, and ensuring strict adherence to Islamic banking principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead customer relationships for both corporate and retail clients.
  • Drive sales of Shari’ah-compliant products and cross-sell other basket products to meet set targets.
  • Liaise with relationship teams and the retail branch network to grow the business.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate losses, including fraud prevention and revenue leakage control.
  • Train and develop branch staff on Shari’ah banking products and services.
  • Ensure proper documentation and administration of Shari’ah-compliant portfolios.
  • Manage the Non-Performing Finance (PAR) ratio in line with set targets.
  • Take full responsibility for leadership, management, growth, and maintenance of the Shari’ah-compliant book (SAHL).
  • Maintain and grow existing Shari’ah-compliant customer relationships through enhanced service and engagement.
  • Achieve set targets in terms of numbers and value for both liabilities and assets.
  • Monitor and manage Shari’ah-compliant customer complaints, review service delivery standards, and position staff to ensure the highest service levels.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • Islamic Banking Certification is an added advantage.

Work Experience

  • 3 years of general work experience.
  • 2 years of experience in banking operations.
  • 2 years of experience in Shari’ah banking.
  • 2 years of experience in credit management.
  • 2 years of experience in sales and relationship management.
