Role Overview
As a Revenue Assurance Analyst, you will spend your days verifying that every billing record matches contractual terms, pricing schedules, and revenue recognition rules. Your careful detective work helps the organization catch discrepancies early, prevent revenue leakage, and keep financial reporting reliable – directly protecting the company’s bottom line and supporting sound business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate billing transactions against agreed contracts, price lists, and internal policies to flag any mischarges or omissions.
- Analyze revenue data using tools like Excel and Power BI to spot trends, outliers, or recurring errors that could indicate systemic issues.
- Perform scheduled audits of revenue streams, investigating root causes of anomalies and coordinating with teams to correct errors and close gaps.
- Work with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Legal to refine billing workflows, contract administration, and revenue verification procedures.
- Document recommended best practices for revenue validation, contract management, and data quality, then share them with relevant stakeholders.
- Build and maintain dashboards and periodic reports that give management clear visibility into revenue health, leakage, and compliance metrics.
- Monitor adherence to contract terms and revenue recognition standards, resolving mismatches between what was signed and what was billed.
- Identify emerging revenue risks – from changing industry regulations to new product offerings – and propose controls to minimize exposure.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- One to two years of hands-on experience in a revenue assurance, billing audit, or similar financial analysis role.
- Progress toward or completion of a CPA or ACCA certification is strongly preferred.
- Additional training or certification in data analytics, Power BI, advanced Excel, SQL, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
- Solid working knowledge of revenue recognition principles and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 15 / ASC 606).
- Proficient in Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and pivot reporting; familiarity with data visualization platforms like Power BI.
- Strong analytical and investigative mindset with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to trace discrepancies to their source.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in presenting findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
- Comfort managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Understanding of connectivity industry billing systems, contract lifecycle, and revenue operations is highly desirable.
