Job Title: Medical Officer
Role Summary
Conduct patient assessments, diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate treatment. Manage inpatients and ensure timely follow-up and discharge planning. Provide emergency care and initial stabilisation for critically ill patients. Participate in ward rounds, case reviews, and consultations. Ensure clear and accurate medical documentation and handovers. Adhere to infection control, hospital protocols, and ethical guidelines. Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) and quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and prescribe appropriate treatment plans.
- Manage inpatients from admission to discharge, including timely follow-up and discharge planning.
- Deliver emergency care and initial stabilisation for critically ill patients.
- Actively participate in ward rounds, case reviews, and multidisciplinary consultations.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and complete medical documentation and ensure effective handovers.
- Adhere strictly to infection control measures, hospital protocols, and ethical guidelines.
- Engage in Continuous Medical Education (CME) and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a facility of similar size.
- Registration and valid practising license with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

- Proficiency in general medical practice, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Ability to manage emergencies and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
- Excellent clinical documentation and communication skills.
- Strong decision-making, analytical thinking, and teamwork abilities.
