Job Description
- Prepare operating theatres and ensure all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures.
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations by providing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, including patient education and counselling.
- Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient progress.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols in the theatre environment.
- Handle specimens safely and ensure proper documentation for laboratory analysis.
- Support emergency surgical interventions when required.
- Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to theatre team training.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines: kenya registered community health nursing.
- Kenya registered nursing, kenya registered midwifery, kenya registered nursing/midwifery.
- Or kenya registered nursing/mental health and psychiatry from a recognized institution.
- Higher diploma in any of the following disciplines: kenya registered perioperative nursing or kenya registered theatre nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificate issued by the nursing council of kenya.
- Valid practising license from the nursing council of kenya; and
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
