Role Overview

This position centres on protecting product integrity at every stage of the manufacturing cycle. You will carry out hands-on checks on incoming materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, comparing what you see against engineering drawings, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. Your vigilance directly supports the plant's reputation for reliable output and helps prevent costly rework or customer rejections.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming material inspections to confirm that supplied components and raw materials meet approved specifications before they enter production.
• Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc quality checks across machining, fabrication, assembly, and finishing stages using defined inspection plans and calibrated tools.
• Verify finished products against engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, surface finish requirements, and applicable industry or regulatory standards.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications, then translate those requirements into clear guidance for machine operators and assembly teams.
• Make accept or reject decisions on inspected items and clearly document the reasoning, including any non-conformances identified.
• Investigate recurring quality issues through root cause analysis and recommend practical corrective actions to prevent repeat occurrences.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, defect logs, and corrective action files, and compile periodic reports for management review.
• Champion workplace safety and quality awareness, ensuring all inspection activities follow health and safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• At least one year of hands-on quality inspection experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, or equivalent industrial setting.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning, and technical specifications.
• Solid grasp of inspection tools such as callipers, micrometres, gauges, and coordinate measuring equipment, along with knowledge of sampling methods.
• Familiarity with quality assurance frameworks, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with production staff.
• High attention to detail with the discipline to follow procedures consistently under production deadlines.
