Role Overview
You will join our visual content team as a working photographer, responsible for producing high-quality images from concept to final edit for client campaigns, editorial features, and documentary projects. Your days will alternate between shooting in our equipped studio and travelling to on-location sets, with the remainder of your time spent on culling, retouching, and asset delivery to meet tight production deadlines. Your work directly shapes how our clients present their products and stories to the public, so accuracy, creative problem-solving, and reliable output are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute photo shoots in both studio and outdoor environments, managing lighting rigs, backgrounds, and camera setups to match the creative brief.
- Collaborate with art directors, stylists, and clients to interpret shot lists, mood boards, and visual references before each session.
- Capture and review images on set, making real-time adjustments to exposure, composition, and lighting to ensure the required technical standards are met.
- Process all raw files using Lightroom and Capture One, applying consistent colour correction, noise reduction, and file naming conventions for every project.
- Perform detailed retouching in Photoshop, including skin smoothing, object removal, composite work, and colour grading, while preserving natural realism where required.
- Maintain and prepare camera equipment, lenses, lighting modifiers, and backup storage systems so the kit is shoot-ready at all times.
- Deliver final images in the required formats and resolutions, organising files with clear metadata and maintaining an archive for future reuse.
- Stay current with photographic trends, gear upgrades, and post-production techniques to propose new creative approaches for upcoming assignments.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A diploma in photography or an equivalent formal qualification from a recognised institution.
- At least two years of professional shooting experience across commercial, editorial, or documentary genres, with a portfolio demonstrating your range.
- Advanced proficiency in Lightroom, Capture One, and Photoshop, including non-destructive editing and batch processing workflows.
- Solid practical understanding of studio lighting equipment, including strobes, continuous lights, modifiers, and light meters, as well as on-location lighting in changing natural conditions.
- Strong command of digital camera systems, lens selection, and technical exposure fundamentals.
- The ability to work independently on location, problem-solving equipment and lighting challenges without supervision.
- Excellent communication skills to take direction on set and offer informed visual suggestions to the wider team.
- A reliable, organised approach to file management, backup routines, and meeting strict delivery deadlines.
