Position Title: Pharmaceutical Technologist (Pharm Tech)

Direct Line Reporting: Pharmacy Manager

Industry Sector: Healthcare

Gross Salary Structure: Kshs. 52,000

Location: Kasarani and Embakasi

Role Overview

We are seeking a diligent, patient-centered Pharmaceutical Technologist to anchor our pharmacy operations and clinical service delivery. Your primary mandate is to ensure the absolute accuracy of medication dispensing while maintaining an impeccably organized drug inventory system. This role balances retail accuracy with strict regulatory oversight; you will guide clients from processing complex prescriptions and offering essential dosage counseling through to tracking delicate stock cycles. The position requires a licensed professional who understands the dynamics of patient safety and can seamlessly execute day-to-day operations across our branches.

Areas of Accountability

Prescription Processing & Medication Dispensing

  • Accurately interpret and dispense both prescription and over-the-counter medications to patients in strict accordance with clinical parameters.

  • Provide comprehensive patient counseling, clearly articulating dosage instructions, administration protocols, and potential drug side effects.

  • Enforce unwavering compliance with standard pharmaceutical dispensing models and clinical guidelines during every patient interaction.

Inventory Control & Stock Preservation

  • Systematically monitor stock counts to maintain optimum levels of crucial pharmaceutical products and prevent out-of-stock scenarios.

  • Execute rigorous expiry date tracking protocols and guarantee that all medications are stored under precise temperature and security conditions.

  • Document and manage comprehensive stock ledgers, tracking all internal movements, sales logs, and newly arrived batches.

Patient Consultations & Care Excellence

  • Deliver empathetic, highly professional advice to patients regarding general wellness and correct product utilization.

  • Address all walk-in and digital customer inquiries concerning alternative brands, supplement compatibility, and therapeutic classifications.

  • Uphold an exceptional standard of client care, fostering an inviting and trusted community pharmacy environment.

Regulatory Records & Audit Alignment

  • Maintain strict operational alignment with all guidelines set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).

  • Compile and preserve flawless records of daily dispensing files, restricted drug ledgers, and inventory audits.

  • Assist with internal quality checks and cooperate fully with state regulatory inspectors during periodic site audits.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Entry Criteria

  • Academic Foundation: Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized training institution.

  • Professional Credentials: Must be fully registered and hold a valid, active practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).

  • Proven Track Record: Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience working within an active hospital or fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

Core Competencies

  • Clinical Accuracy: Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical compounds, pharmacological mechanisms, correct dosing scales, and clinical dispensing best practices.

  • Meticulous Detail: Exceptional accuracy and concentration levels when measuring dosages, reading prescriptions, and updating stock entries.

  • Ethical Discretion: Strong interpersonal communication skills with an absolute commitment to patient privacy, data confidentiality, and medical professionalism.

What We Offer

  • Diverse Exposure: Take charge of operations across key urban touchpoints, gaining rich experience in both high-volume retail and clinical patient management.

  • Professional Growth: Refine your diagnostic and stock control expertise within an expanding healthcare network that prioritizes standard-setting patient care.

  • Dynamic Environment: Collaborate within a supportive medical team focused on continuous development and community well-being.
