Job Description

Job Title: Maritime Instructor – Nautical Science

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced maritime professional to join our faculty as a Nautical Science Instructor. In this role, you will deliver academic and practical training to cadets, ensuring alignment with international standards and preparing students for successful careers at sea.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nautical Science, Marine Navigation, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Certificate of Competency (CoC) as an Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (STCW II/1), Master Mariner, or Chief Mate (STCW II/2).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years’ sea service. Prior teaching or training experience in a maritime institution is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with IMO Model Courses and STCW requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in navigation, ship stability, meteorology, cargo handling, and maritime law.
  • Deliver practical training in bridge simulation, chart work, and voyage planning.
  • Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with IMO STCW standards.
  • Mentor and guide cadets in academic and professional development.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support students in preparation for certification exams and onboard training.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the nautical science curriculum.
  • Integrate emerging technologies and industry practices into training modules.
  • Ensure training programs meet national and international maritime education standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
  • Work closely with other trainers, academic staff, and industry partners.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.
