Job Description

Role Overview

This role keeps customer vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready through scheduled maintenance, fault diagnosis, and mechanical or electrical repairs. Working from job cards and workshop procedures, the technician combines hands-on repair skill with clear communication so supervisors and service advisors always know the status and requirements of each job. The position is central to workshop quality, on-time delivery, and the kind of service experience that earns repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and repair work according to job cards, workshop guidelines, and accepted quality standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems accurately, then report findings and recommended actions to supervisors and service advisors.
  • Prepare repair estimates for review before work is approved or progressed.
  • Request and follow up on parts and consumables needed to complete assigned jobs.
  • Apply 5S principles daily to keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
  • Follow environmental, health, and safety requirements, including correct waste segregation and consistent use of personal protective equipment.
  • Record completed work and parts used on job cards so service history and billing information remain accurate.
  • Take on additional workshop duties as directed by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Automotive Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician.
  • Completion of Level 1–3 Technician Trainings.
  • Strong diagnostic ability across mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
  • Customer-centric approach, with an understanding of how service quality supports long-term customer value.
  • Commercial awareness to support cost-effective repair and parts decisions.
  • Comfort working with data and basic analytics to monitor work quality, trends, or performance.
  • Digital fluency for workshop systems, diagnostic equipment, and job-card or parts platforms.
  • Innovation and agility in adapting to new methods, tools, or workshop demands.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and sustainable workshop practices.
