Role Overview
As an Online Sales Associate on our B2C team, you will be the direct point of contact for customers reaching out through WhatsApp, phone calls, and other messaging platforms. Your main focus is turning everyday conversations into confirmed orders while keeping a warm, professional tone that encourages repeat business. Because you are managing several live buyer conversations at once, your contribution directly supports our daily revenue goals and helps us grow a loyal base of customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond quickly and clearly to customer enquiries on WhatsApp, phone calls, and various messaging apps, ensuring every potential sale is followed through.
- Present our products and services in a compelling way, adapting your approach based on what each shopper is looking for and what they are willing to spend.
- Handle several active chats at the same time without losing track of details, so each customer feels valued and properly informed.
- Log every interaction into the CRM, keeping precise records of contact information, product interests, and next steps.
- Follow up with prospects who have not yet made a purchase, sending polite reminders and timely offers to keep the sales process moving.
- Reach assigned daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets by confidently guiding customers through product benefits, pricing, and checkout.
- Spot opportunities to suggest additional products or higher-value options when they match the customer's needs.
- Work alongside other members of the online sales team and share insights on customer questions and objections to strengthen future sales messaging.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least one year of proven online sales experience, preferably selling directly to consumers through chat, phone, or a similar remote channel.
- Practical experience using a CRM system to manage sales pipelines, log enquiries, and track follow-ups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to be persuasive and approachable in text-based conversations.
- Excellent multitasking skills, particularly when handling multiple simultaneous chats and phone enquiries.
- A demonstrable ability to negotiate, handle objections, and close sales in a digital environment.
- Reliable internet connection and a distraction-free setup for scheduled remote work days.
- Ability to commute to our Mlolongo, Nairobi office on days when in-person attendance is required.
- Self-motivated and organised, with a consistent track record of hitting sales targets without constant supervision.
