Job Title: Nurse In-Charge / Covering Nurse
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated nursing professional to take overall charge of the ward/unit during assigned shifts. The ideal candidate will coordinate nursing staff, ensure safe patient care, and uphold hospital policies and nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall charge of the ward/unit during the assigned shift.
- Coordinate nursing staff and allocate duties effectively.
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
- Supervise medication administration and clinical procedures.
- Manage incidents, escalations, and shift handovers.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
- Liaise with doctors and other departments as required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
- Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) practicing license.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Nurse In-Charge / Covering Nurse in a busy hospital.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts at short notice.
- Immediate availability is an added advantage.
