Role Overview
As a Multilingual Contact Centre Agent, you will be the first voice and digital presence customers meet when they reach out for help. Your day-to-day involves fielding questions, resolving complaints, and guiding clients through service processes across several languages, often within demanding healthcare, insurance, or telecommunications environments. Your ability to switch between languages and cultural contexts while keeping every interaction clear, calm, and accurate is central to maintaining client trust and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming calls, emails, and chat messages in one or more of the required languages, delivering consistent service that meets established quality standards.
- Diagnose the nature of each request, provide clear explanations of policies and procedures, and guide clients toward the appropriate resolution or next step.
- Handle both inbound and outbound communication, including follow-ups and service confirmations, while managing a steady workload in a fast-moving environment.
- Where a clinical background exists, apply that knowledge to recognise medical inquiries, support triage decisions, and assist with healthcare-related claims or case reviews.
- Identify issues that require deeper investigation or specialist input and route them to the correct internal department with sufficient context and documentation.
- Log every interaction accurately in the CRM or contact centre system, maintaining detailed records of inquiries, actions taken, and client outcomes.
- Follow all communication protocols, privacy rules, and service-level obligations, ensuring every customer exchange is handled professionally and compliantly.
- Take part in ongoing training to refresh language proficiency, product knowledge, and service techniques in line with changing business needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A diploma or bachelor's degree in mass communication, public relations, linguistics, human resources, healthcare, business administration, or another relevant field.
- At least 1–3 years of experience in a call or contact centre role, ideally within insurance, healthcare, telecommunications, or a comparable service-driven sector.
- Professional working proficiency in two or more of the following: Kiswahili, English, French, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, or Portuguese.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and approach to different audiences and cultural expectations.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive or frustrated customers with patience, empathy, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, ticketing platforms, or call centre software is considered an advantage.
- A nursing or clinical medicine background is a distinct advantage, as is prior exposure to medical claims, insurance policies, or healthcare delivery processes.
