Job Description

Role Overview

This field-based position connects the central warehouse with mechanics, garages, and retail customers across Nairobi by ensuring every spare-parts order reaches its destination on time and in good condition. A typical day involves collecting parts and paperwork from dispatch, mapping out an efficient delivery sequence, riding through city traffic, and returning with signed proof of delivery and collected payments. The role matters because automotive parts are often urgent and high-value; a dependable rider directly protects revenue, client trust, and the company's reputation for reliable service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver automotive spare parts, packages, and accompanying documents to garages, repair shops, and customers throughout Nairobi according to the daily dispatch list.
  • Obtain customer signatures, business stamps, and payment receipts on delivery notes, and return all paperwork and cash or cheques to the logistics office by end of shift.
  • Secure and stabilise delicate or bulky components on the motorcycle before departure to prevent shifting, damage, or loss during transit.
  • Complete administrative errands such as bank deposits, cheque drops, and document pickups when assigned by the logistics lead.
  • Perform daily pre-ride inspections covering tyre pressure, brakes, oil, fuel, lights, and chain condition, reporting any mechanical concern immediately.
  • Keep the assigned motorcycle clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy, and follow through on service and repair approvals before small issues turn into breakdowns.
  • Plan multi-stop routes using practical knowledge of Nairobi traffic patterns, estates, and industrial zones to meet tight delivery windows while managing fuel use.
  • Maintain professional, courteous conduct at every client site and safeguard company property, customer packages, financial documents, and collected funds at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid, clean Kenyan motorcycle riding licence with Class A/A2 endorsement or the appropriate stamp.
  • At least two years of professional riding experience in courier services, delivery operations, or field dispatch on Nairobi roads.
  • Solid familiarity with Nairobi's neighbourhoods, industrial areas, traffic congestion points, and short-cut routes used for faster deliveries.
  • Working knowledge of basic motorcycle mechanics, including routine checks, chain care, and identifying unusual sounds or handling issues.
  • Fluent spoken and written communication in both English and Kiswahili, with the ability to maintain accurate delivery records.
  • High personal integrity and careful handling of expensive components, cheques, and confidential paperwork without supervision.

What We Offer / Why Join

This role provides a stable monthly net salary of Kshs. 30,000 within an established automotive spare-parts distribution business. The company supplies and maintains the motorcycle and protective riding gear, so riders do not shoulder ownership or maintenance costs from their own pocket. You will also gain consistent, long-term field work with clear routines and the responsibility of representing a trusted brand at client locations across Nairobi.
