Job Description

Role Overview

You will bring storyboards, style frames, and creative briefs to life through polished motion work, producing everything from short character-driven sequences to dynamic motion graphics for commercial and entertainment projects. Your day-to-day involves interpreting direction from art directors and leads, refining animation cycles, and ensuring every frame meets the project's visual and narrative standards. This role matters because your output directly shapes the final viewer experience and upholds the studio’s reputation for high-quality, engaging content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create fluid, expressive animations for characters, objects, and typography across commercial spots, branded content, and entertainment pieces.
  • Translate storyboards, animatics, and written briefs into fully realized animated sequences that hit timing, pacing, and emotional beats.
  • Collaborate with designers, illustrators, and directors to ensure animation style aligns with the overall visual identity of each project.
  • Handle rigging, keyframing, and animation cleanup, ensuring assets move naturally and consistently within the chosen software environment.
  • Iterate on feedback from creative leads, refining motion details such as easing, anticipation, overlap, and secondary action until delivery-ready.
  • Manage your time across multiple concurrent tasks, prioritising deadlines and maintaining organised project files for smooth handoffs.
  • Stay current with animation trends, tools, and techniques, and proactively suggest improvements to internal workflows and animation quality.
  • Deliver final renders in required formats and resolutions, troubleshooting any technical issues that arise during output.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in at least one major animation tool: After Effects, Blender, Maya, or Toon Boom Harmony (additional tools are a plus).
  • A professional animation reel demonstrating strong fundamentals in motion, timing, composition, and storytelling — specifically with commercial or entertainment work.
  • 2+ years of hands-on animation experience in a studio, agency, or freelance capacity producing client-ready work.
  • Solid understanding of animation principles, including squash and stretch, anticipation, staging, and follow-through, applied across varied styles.
  • Ability to work within established style guides and match the aesthetic of existing projects while still bringing creative problem-solving to each task.
  • Comfortable receiving and giving constructive feedback in a fast-paced, collaborative production environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to naming conventions, file management, and version control.
  • A portfolio or demo reel must be submitted with the application; applications without one will not be considered.

What We Offer / Why Join

Working here means joining a team that values craft and creative growth. You’ll get to flex your skills across a variety of projects rather than being boxed into one style, and you’ll have direct input into how animation is approached and elevated on each piece. If you’re looking to build a standout portfolio with work that reaches broad audiences, this is a place where your contribution makes a visible difference.
