Responsibilities
- Deliver competency-based technical training in accordance with approved curricula and industry standards.
- Provide practical, hands-on training across the five core Integrated repair and maintenance trades.
- Prepare trainees for relevant NITA Grades III, II and I competencies.
- Demonstrate and supervise repair, maintenance, installation, fabrication, construction, and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop trainees ability to diagnose technical faults and undertake preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Integrate apprenticeship and workplace-based learning into the training programme.
- Mentor trainees in professional conduct, work ethics, customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Promote occupational health and safety and ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Support trainees to develop entrepreneurial and self-employment skills.
- Identify opportunities for trainees to undertake real-world repair and maintenance assignments.
- Assess trainee competencies through practical demonstrations, assignments, projects, and other appropriate methods.
- Maintain accurate training, attendance, assessment, and trainee progress records.
- Support curriculum improvement based on emerging market and industry needs.
- Maintain and promote proper care, maintenance, and safe use of workshop tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with other instructors management, industry partners, apprenticeships providers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in programme monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrable practical experience across at least three (3) of the five core trades.(Plumbing,Electrical Installation,Masonry,Welding & Fabrication.Carpentry & Joinery)
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, mentor, and supervise young people in practical technical skills.
