Role Overview

You will be the operational linchpin for daily movement of goods across our supply chain, making sure shipments leave on time, deliveries hit every window, and stock flows without bottlenecks. Your coordination directly impacts customer satisfaction and cost control—every route you plan and every carrier you brief keeps our FMCG products moving from warehouse to shelf efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily transport schedules, balancing truck capacity, delivery windows, and driver availability to meet customer demand.
• Oversee dispatch operations, ensuring correct product quantities, documentation, and loading procedures are followed before vehicles leave the yard.
• Monitor inventory movements across multiple storage locations, flagging shortages or overstock that could disrupt order fulfilment.
• Act as the primary liaison with third-party transport providers—negotiate rates, confirm pick-ups, and resolve service issues in real time.
• Track fleet utilisation and delivery performance metrics, using data to recommend route changes or carrier adjustments that reduce costs.
• Prepare daily and weekly logistics reports covering on-time delivery, fuel consumption, and incident summaries for management review.
• Maintain accurate records of transport permits, vehicle inspection logs, and regulatory compliance documents for audit readiness.
• Support sales order processing by confirming delivery feasibility, coordinating urgent replenishments, and communicating any delays to the commercial team.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a closely related field; additional logistics certification (e.g., CILT, APICS) is strongly preferred.
• Minimum three years of hands-on experience in logistics coordination, specifically within an FMCG environment handling high-volume, fast-moving goods.
• Proven ability to manage inventory using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysing transport data, creating pivot tables, and building delivery dashboards.
• Solid understanding of route planning principles, including geographic optimisation, traffic constraints, and fleet capacity balancing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills—able to troubleshoot delivery disruptions, reroute shipments, and propose cost-saving alternatives on the fly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for daily interaction with drivers, warehouse teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Valid driving licence (preferably with a clean record) and willingness to occasionally visit operational sites or accompany delivery runs for observation.
• Demonstrated time-management and organisational ability, capable of prioritising multiple urgent tasks without losing sight of long-term planning goals.
