Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in statistics courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
- Participate in the development, review, and updating of course content to align with current trends in statistics and data science.
- Conduct research in statistics-related fields and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
- Supervise student projects, research work, and dissertations while providing academic guidance and mentorship
- Prepare, administer, and grade examinations, assignments, and continuous assessments in accordance with university policies.
Qualifications and skills
- Must hold at least a Master’s degree in Statistics, Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, or Data Science from a recognized institution.
- A strong foundational degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, R, Python, STATA, or SAS, and strong analytical skills
- At least 2–3 years of teaching experience at university or college level is preferred
- Must be a registered member of a recognized professional body such as the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), American Statistical Association (ASA), or a relevant national or international statistical association.
- Must have published at least one paper in a peer-reviewed journal or demonstrate ongoing research capability
