Job Description

Job Title: K9 Section Manager

We are seeking a qualified, dynamic, and results-oriented individual to oversee business development functions within our K9 section. The successful candidate will drive the achievement of our strategic objectives through effective leadership, operational management, and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align the section with the company strategy, including envisioned future, purpose, objectives, and core values.
  • Execute organizational objectives through the Balanced Scorecard (BSC).
  • Provide leadership and management of the company’s K9 section.
  • Implement Security Operations Management systems, including developing, evaluating, and executing K9 section policies, processes, and standard operating procedures for operations.
  • Execute other relevant company policies and procedures within the section: Health and Safety, Grievance handling, Inclusivity and diversity, Whistleblowing, Performance Management, Credit control, Procurement policy and procedures, Fleet management policy, etc.
  • Draft and control the K9 section annual budget (revenue and cost).
  • Support business growth through outright sales and product diversification.
  • Ensure efficient and effective allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Compile and submit monthly reports as required from time to time.
  • Perform any other lawful duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Training

  • Diploma in Business Management or another relevant field.
  • Dog Handlers Training Course.
  • Dog Training certification.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in dog management.
  • 3 years in a supervisory role within a dog handling environment.

Knowledge

  • Product portfolio knowledge.
  • Security industry knowledge.
  • Technological solutions.
  • Market knowledge.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Customer support.
  • Team building.

Skills & Competencies

  • K9 management, explosives detection and handling, narcotics management.
  • Business acumen and leadership skills.
  • ICT proficiency.
  • Certified security professional (preferred).
  • Relevant government liaison with KDF, NPS K9, Prison Service, KRA, KWS, and others.
  • Research and development capability.
  • Emerging and arising issue awareness.
