Role Overview
This position sits within a logistics and distribution company based in Kikuyu, where you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities across multiple branches. Your focus will be on keeping cash flow, receivables, payables, and stock positions accurately reconciled in SAP, while also supporting branch-level profitability tracking. The role matters because accurate and timely financial reporting keeps operations running smoothly and gives management a clear view of performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cash flow reconciliations and ensure all cash movements are accurately captured and reported.
- Manage accounting operations for assigned branches, including monitoring branch performance and flagging discrepancies.
- Reconcile sales revenue and receipts by posting invoices and matching payments in SAP.
- Track and receipt withholding tax receivables to ensure timely and accurate recording.
- Reconcile petty cash transactions and upload expense records into the accounting system.
- Prepare branch profitability reports and track performance against targets.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations in SAP, resolving any outstanding items.
- Reconcile loan payments and maintain updated loan account records in the SAP ERP system.
- Participate in branch visits, stock counts, and inventory reconciliations as required.
- Provide accounting cover for team members on leave and support onboarding of new staff.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA qualification is an added advantage.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience, ideally within the FMCG or distribution sector.
- Hands-on experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and stock reconciliations.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP and Microsoft Excel, including reliable data management and reporting skills.
- High level of integrity, with the ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with branch teams and collaborating across departments.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
