Applicants should:
Hold relevant academic qualifications (Diploma, Bachelor’s, or professional certification depending on the role).
Have prior experience in finance, procurement, HR, braille transcription, security, marketing, administration, catering, healthcare, or technical training depending on the position.
Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Be familiar with inclusive education frameworks, disability support services, and TVET standards.
Show professionalism, integrity, and alignment with Machakos Technical Institute for the Blind’s mission of empowering learners through technical and vocational education.
Role‑specific expectations:
Braille Transcriber / Technician: Provide braille literacy support and technical transcription services.
Kenya Sign Language Translator: Facilitate inclusive communication for learners with hearing impairments.
Leather Technician: Deliver practical training in leather craft and production.
Building & Civil Engineering Technician: Support technical training in construction and engineering fields.
Head Cook / Cateress: Manage catering services, meal planning, and nutrition.
Finance, HR, Procurement Officers: Handle institutional financial management, staff support, and procurement compliance.
Internal Security Officer: Ensure campus safety and compliance with security protocols.
IGA Marketing & Management Officer: Oversee income‑generating activities, marketing, and resource management.
Office Administrators / Secretaries: Provide administrative support, documentation, and office coordination.
Nurse: Deliver healthcare support and first aid services to staff and students.
Applicants can either apply in own handwriting or apply electronically and deliver the application on or before the 10th September, 2026 to the Chief Principal office.

All applicants are required to submit a certificate of clearance for good conduct obtained from the Directorate of criminal Intelligence during physical interview if shortlisted.
